🎄Christmas in July

Have you written a festive romance, small-town Christmas story, winter novella or holiday romcom?

Christmas in July is just around the corner, and we’re sending out a special My Romance Reads edition on 25th July for readers who love festive romance.

This could be a great fit if your book features:

  • Christmas markets
  • Snowed-in romance
  • Cosy cabins
  • Festive fake dating
  • Second chances at Christmas
  • Small-town holiday magic
  • Spicy Christmas novellas
  • Grumpy/sunshine festive romance

To celebrate, you can get 15% off your next My Romance Reads promo when you book before 30th June.

Use code JulyXmas at checkout.

🎬 BookTok tip: make the trope obvious

BookTok is still one of the biggest discovery engines for romance readers, so if you’re not posting on it, you’re missing a great opportunity to connect with readers.

And you don’t need to dance or to be a full time content creator to use it.  The main lesson authors can take from BookTok is simple:

Readers respond when the vibe, trope and emotional hook are obvious.

Use quotes, trope lists, “this book has X, Y and Z” hooks so that readers know exactly what they’re getting within 15 seconds.

It’s a good lesson for all book marketing. The easier you make it for readers to recognise what they love, the easier it is for them to click.

🌎 Launch Your Books in New Languages

I recently hosted a free workshop on how romance authors can launch their books in new languages without spending thousands on translation.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your books could reach readers in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal or other international markets, the replay is worth watching.

In the training, I cover:

  • Why Europe is such an interesting opportunity for romance authors
  • Which languages may be best to launch in first
  • How to translate romantic scenes without losing the emotion
  • How AI translation plus human editing can make the process more affordable
  • Why some romance authors may be leaving international revenue on the table

We’re also getting ready to launch Romantasy Realm, our new weekly newsletter for readers who love romantasy, fantasy romance, paranormal romance and magical love stories.

This will be separate from the main My Romance Reads newsletter, and the books featured in Romantasy Realm will be exclusive to that list.

If you write romantasy, fantasy romance, paranormal romance, shifter romance, vampire romance, witchy romance, fae romance, dragon romance, or anything with magic, monsters, mates, curses, courts or morally grey heroes, this could be a great fit.

We’ll be opening up some early feature opportunities soon, including free early promo slots for selected books while we build the first few issues.

More details coming soon.
