She’s twenty-three. I’m forty-one.
For five years, she’s tried to break me.
A mouth made for trouble.
Curves made for sin.
Eyes that look at me like there’s still a man under the scars.
For five years, I’ve let her think it isn’t working.
I know her coffee order. Her class schedule.
Every exit in every room she walks into.
And exactly how long it takes to kill a man who touches her.
Four seconds. Three if he’s slow.
I don’t flirt. I don’t smile. I don’t crack.
Then her father sells her to a rival boss.
A cruel bastard who wants her quiet. Obedient. Broken.
He’ll take away every dream she’s ever fought for.
I’ve already measured him for a coffin.
So she slips her leash.
Ditches her phone.
Puts on a mask.
Walks into a sex club.
Cute.
I find her anyway.
And every rule I’ve ever lived by goes up in flames.
She wanted one wild night.
She got me.
Now she’s carrying a secret that could start a war.
And the killers just found her.
Let them come.
I was a monster long before I was her bodyguard.
Now I’m HER monster.
